So I got my N800 yesterday and tryed creating the swap file and it locks ups, I tryed 3 times. today I tryed a different memory card. Ends up the N800 isn't reading the memory cards correctly. The memory card reader is bad. So now after getting it over nighted I have to send it back in for a replacement. Just throwing this out there if anyone else has the same problems.

and FYI I tryed to move files between the N800 and the cards, each card in each intenral and external slots, every possible combination. One card was the 128MB mini SD it comes with, the other is a 1 GB PNY SD. The 1GB is from my camera and works fine. And I had to spend one hour with nokia support.

If that was a new card you might try formatting it first?

Yeah tryed formatting, it doesn't work, it says memory card is corrupted

But my other card should have worked fine, because it is tested true and it had the same problems

I did format my 1GB RS-MMC card on my 770 from Windows... When your 800 is plugged into computer using USB cable you see it as a removable disk drive. Then you can select it and format... If it is a bigger card make sure you format it with FAT32.

Let me know if that works for you.

Fixed my problem. With the powercable connected the 800 wasn't shutting down properly. Once I did a full reboot I had access to my sd card again.

@Tuxedosteve: It would be nice if you went into more detail. I know I rebooted my n800 a few times and I also reflashed it. still no help

I went through something similar. After first boot I inserted the card in both slots... nothing. Inserted the card I use in the N700... nothing. Then fully rebooted (with power unplugged) and the cards were there
