This might have been already talked about, but... is there a way to hide the scrollbar ? I know it sounds silly, but even though Tear has kinetic and tap-drag scrolling, when I see the scrollbar I reflexively use it and it takes a couple of seconds until I get to d'oh.

FWIW, vala 0.7.3 is now in extras-devel. Compiling with it, and reporting any problems, would be greatly appreciated.

The language Tear is written in. No Vala == no Tear.

I take very little credit for Vala, I've just packaged (and now, patched) it.

Vala 0.7 has big changes on the building side, so I'm still not upgrading. Maybe now's the time

0.7.3's got a dependency on glib 2.14. Diablo only has 2.12.

Fortunately, it's in a single place (GIR filename parsing) so on my 0.7.3-maemo1 build I've patched it out (trying to do GIR stuff will report an error [I think: untested]).

I've raised it on vala-list, but would be interested to know if the removal of this feature (can't imagine it being used by you at the moment), or the patch, cause any problems.

Has anyone tried to use mapquest with tear? When I try to input a city...say Indianapolis, IN , then tap get map...it comes back with an error saying "invalid state/province abbreviation". I get this same error when using midori also. Can anyone confirm this error?

@Jaffa: Sometimes I need to use gir files - its a step on creating VAPIs.

@munky: This error is the new incarnation of the file dialog error.

Bundyo, is it possible to disable kinetic scrolling? It's definitely not for me - my screen trembles like in delirium tremens when I try to scroll wit stylus.

I get this problem every time with 0.3.1-2 when running the Mer desktop (and many Maemo daemons stopped). Does Tear 0.3.1-2 depend on a Maemo service?

I downgraded to 0.3.1-1 and the problem has gone away. So this is something added in the most recent version.

Is there any way to start a new Tear browser from dbus? the method given only starts a second window once the first window has been opened.
