On my tablet the keyboard does connect automatically. Tap the bluetooth icon on the desktop. Tap the devices list edit the keyboard in the list and set as trusted device. I am using an N800 on OS20008 diablo..

One more thing: name the device without space(s).

OK everyone...

I have done all of the above to no avail including changing the device name to remove the spaces.

I have seen lots of post by people using the n800, I have the n810. Is there or should there be a difference between these two devices when it comes to Bluetooth?

I just bought this from someone on this forum so since they were using it with an n810 as well, I can only assume that it should work...Very Frustrating!

I haven't used my BT keyboard for a while. Only thing I can think of from the top of my head is replacing the batteries.

But are you sure having BT visible and on? The BT applet should be on too.

I am new to Bluetooth in general but very familiar with many devices and such.

That said, the BT on the n810 is on (WHITE).

The Green flashing light on the Stowaway KB flashes which tells me it works and is active.

The issue is not setup and pairing but on RE-connecting...

Everything is in order, something is just missing and I need someone with an n810 to verify their experience as to if anything has changed between the two models.

That tells me the N810 did not try to re-connect to the keyboard.

I had the igo but gave it away so I did not test my N810 with the igo.

But I just tested my N810 with the BT Nokia SU-8W:

Paired, turned off SU-8W, disconnected on the N810, turned on SU-8W, the BT on N810 turned BLUE and auto-connected to the SU-8W.

You should delete the paired device again on the N810, pair it again with a name w/o space(s)
to see if it works or not. That is what I recall when I had the igo.

Thanks for your diligence first of all...

OK, after some more investigation, I found:

1) I have a Think Outside model XTBT01, not an iGo brand. iGo bought Think Outside as there is no more Think Outside brand...

2) I changed the device name to "iGo" and found that watching closely the BT indicator on the n810 would flash from White to Blue while typing on the keyboard but never stay constant. This tells me it is trying to connect but not staying connected.

3) While the BY icon is Blue, if I use the stylus and click on it, I get the dialogue box on screen that says "Disconnect iGo?"
So this must mean there is a state that it is connected but something is preventing it from staying connected.

Reading through the entire posting of your supplied thread, there is mixed review on editing code to fix the problem. What is your recommendation on this?

Thanks!

If I remember correctly there would be a double entries in that file. Delete them and try to connect again with a short name (no space!). Some how the N8x0 picks up the first assigned entry with space in its name and can not re-connect to the keyboard.

I too had that problem with the N800.

OK, I thought there might be something to that.

Now, I could use some help with deciphering that solution (not a coder) as to exact step by step directions as to make sure I do not obliterate my n810...
