Hello everyone.

I just had some problems plugging my N800 into my laptop. I have done this many times with no problems. But today, when I plugged it in, nothing happened.
So I started fiddling with things to "wake up" the tablet somehow. I read somewhere that taking the back cover off and putting it on can on occasion "remind" the tablet that it has memory cards. I tried this while having the USB cable plugged in, and another where I connected USB cable after opening and closing the cover. Well long story short, I tried a few things. I even tried the magic reboot fix on both devices. One at a time. Nothing....
So I am sitting there and I check that the device sees the cards in the control panel, under memory. I see both. Then I swing over and open the File manager to check out the SD cards. (While the device was plugged in via USB). All the sudden when the memory cards show up internal/external. They then disappear and the n800 mounts to my mac. <scratches head>

Is there a possible "call" to the hardware made by the file manager that made this happen? All I know is its an odd thing. I did a fairly good job of only changing one thing at a time. So I am pretty sure it it mounted a little after the file manager opened. anyway, its odd. and if anyone is having problems not connecting, give it a shot. And yes I know that clipping toenails is more technical that what I described, but you never know.

This mess might have been caused by letting the device go "dead" from the battery standpoint. I unplugged the n800 because we had a storm that was throwing lightning bolts like someone combined Zeus with a 4th quarter John Elway.

Best of luck everyone.

And a big thank you to all the software peeps that make this n800 fun to poke around on.
