I'm guessing he was asking more about if there were any updates in hopes that I'd get your stuff integrated.

I can't remember. What was the resolution of our discussion of the fact that an error is occurring (missing deps?) that is preventing it from even being hildonized?

Just two suggestions:

1) On the login window GV should be the first option as I assume that's what most people use.
2) On the login window, the OK button should be on the left as that's more common convention and more intuitive.

v1.0.2 is good so far.

Epage, if you didn't see, addisjon did an update to his GV Notifier. He made it a .deb file instead the .tar
I would really like to see this thing integrated.

I have that problem too! It's really frustrating! Many people, including myself, have reported it here:

https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2082

In the end, the "hugging" trick works. What I've done is get my N770 to connect once and I never disconnect. I've found that even if I close the N770, to put it to sleep, it wakes up with the network fine. If I ever took the N770 to work and connect to another network, it becomes a hassle again to reconnect once I get home... (sigh)

I tried installing DialCentral V1.0.2-0 via the Install link but it reports that my software isn't current enough. Should I download the .deb package use the Installer with it? (I'm guessing it's going to complain.)

I'm new to this whole Skype/Gizmo5/Google Voice thing. It's quite exciting to me that I can get more use out of my N770! Being left behind with the OS updates has been quite aggravating, especially with an "open" device after just a year.

Thanks!

hi everyone,
my problem is different,
I just can't see my 'messages' and 'recent' even after refreshing. i'm forwarding on my gizmo number, is that reason?
I don't really know what to do.

Can you see your Google Voice "Contacts"? If not, are you sure you are connected to GV?

Using your Gizmo integration with GV would maybe mess up your out bound call listings(Placed). Not anything else though(Recieved and missed).

It's now ok, I reflashed my device and intalled DC, amazingly it's now working.
however, I don't see the SMS I recieved , even in my sms box to the website.
I have a skype number, would it be different in case i forward on it, insted of forwarding to the gizmo number?

Sounds like a good idea, I'll add it to my list. The man issue I need to work out is to have it still fit within the UI.
I think you can add some more finger friendly function buttons by using both sides of the screen. Here is my vision. I just put a few ideas on there but I'm sure there can be better functions for the added button space. What do you think? (besides a 5 year old made it And what about "Send" Instead of "Dial". At least we could pretend we had a real cell phone

EDIT** How about making the right side only visible if you have keypad selected . Put on the right like contacts, account, back button, ect on the left keypad shows the right menu. Then the restgive full screen to the messages, recent call list, ect. Just tossing some ideas.

What about font size of the address book and/or messages. Ability to change those would be a plus as I find myself using the stylus more that my finger there.

Thanks for the update, it has been running great!

I was talking to someone the other day [EDIT: Datapath, can never remember which handle he uses] and he gave me an interesting idea. Just like when you hold down the "Back" button to clear the entered number, if you hold down the tab then you will get it refreshed.

This won't scale obviously if people want more functionality but it conceptually fits. Its just not too discoverable, like the back button.

Now I just need to get around to packaging it up...
