Thx..forgot about googlemail. Would be nice if one could edit or create a word doc tho. Does antiword do that?

Check out antiword and abiword. They are both useful. I found all the info I needed in the forums of this site.

I tried to install Abiword, but it seems I have to eat some colored pills before I can install it and I'm not ready to take any other pills today except aspirin for hangover.

Check out docvert.org. You can send a .doc file and it will then display or return (your choice) a converted version. The displayed version is via html.

doc Reader is up on Garage and easily opened / converted an MS Word doc I had sitting in GMail to a PDF... looks great!

Anybody help with installing antiword? I don't see it in the repositories
