BUT: I don't see that the Revo case has a means of completely preventing the case from sliding out, unless I just miss it.

I can't overstate how highly I recommend that sort of feature.

Note that expansys also list the (rather cheaper) leather wallet case for the Revo. It's so cheap (I'm in the UK) that I'm buying one just to test it -- will ebay it if it doesn't fit. I don't have a Revo in front of me but IIRC it was very close to the same size as the N800, and a leather wallet case (with a phone pocket, too!) for the equivalent of US $5 would be absolutely ideal.

Nope, it's just that bit tighter so it doesn't fall out *quite* so readily :-/

I can't overstate how highly I recommend that sort of feature.
Indeed, I think the best approach is a velcro strap sewn onto the outside of the pouch. My sewing skills aren't up to it, but I've *almost* got my wife convinced to give it a go ;-)

She just needs an incentive I'm sure.

Maybe if she was made REALLY happy on Valentine's day...

The e-Holster PDA case fits both the 770 and the N800 pretty well. I bought the leather version with belt clips a couple of years ago for use with my Zaurus SL-6000, but have tried it with both my Nokias. For the N800 I leave it in the "sunglasses case" to protect the screen from scratches, and slip the whole thing into the e-Holster case. The e-Holster system certainly...um, advertises your geekery...but it works.

I also noticed the tendency of the N800 to slip out of the cheap sunglass case Nokia provided. My N800 would be sitting in my passenger seat slid out of it's case be merely driving around. Nokia should of at least provided a Velcro tab to seal the case's opening. To protect my N800 until better leather cases become available, I searched all the local electronics and gaming stores for Sony PSP and Nintendo cases that were compatible. I ended up buying a GameStop Travel Case for the NintendoDS System at GameStop (EB Games also has them). It's a cloth covered hard case that fits the N800 height and width wise perfectly. It's too fat for pocket carry, but was only $9.99. I keep the Nokia headphones and N800 (in it's cheap case) stored inside. I also bought two Transcend Ultra Speed 4GB SD Flash Cards (TS4GSD150) from newegg.com for $49.99 each. They work great!

P.S. This is my first post to ITT! I learned about the 4 GB Transcend card compatibility from this great website.

I have had no problem with the sunglasses case. In fact, I find it to be a big improvement over the 770 case for ease-of-use. The device stays in my pocket most of the time with my Nokia 6682 (6682 on top, N800 on bottom with the screen towards me) and the case let's me pull it out of my pocket without having to take the case out with it and slip it back into the case when I'm done.

That "feature" also makes it easy for the N800 to slip out without you noticing it. I lost mine in the couch cushions (at someone else's house!) because of that. Nowadays, I'm more careful: I put it in my pocket open-end-first, which makes it a lot harder to put in my pocket (and take it out), because the N800 wants to slip out of the case into the pocket, but at least I don't have to worry about losing it.

The "case" situation for the N800 is awful. It's bad enough that the functionality to turn off the screen automatically is removed - I've gotten used to the power-button-enter-button combo for "Soft Power Off." The case is just very inconvenient to use!

what about some kind of small velcro trap in the middle of the N800 case's open end?
