Hello,

I've changed the UI of Tiddly Wiki for internet tablets.

This is how my version looks:

This is how original TiddlyWiki looks:

I've attached the html file.

What do you think?

I think the marriage between TiddlyWiki and the N810 and N900 was made in heaven.

I think putting the "sidebar" down at the bottom makes a lot of sense.

Thanks!

Roger

PS: Without "tiddly" in the wiki name, how will people know nWiki is a TW-based microformat wiki? n-TWiki? Twiki-N? N-twiki? Or just N-tiddlywiki?

Of course, MonkeyPirateGTD doesn't have tiddly in the name either ...

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it

RogerS, you are right. I didn't think about the name very much, and after googling I found out that there is something else called nWiki.

nTiddlyWiki sounds fine.

How about "NittlyWiki"?

This is great. Thanks! People on this forum have recommended TiddlyWiki to me for information management, but the standard one confused me and I didn't like the UI. I really like this one. And I'm now I'm catching on to what is so good about it. (For example, it seems I could put it up on the web and use it and edit it anywhere on any platform.) (I still need to learn more, I guess at TiddlyWiki.org?)

One thing I wish could be changed (though it may be beyond the your power and inhere in the browser): when you tab into a new tiddler's main text field, I wish that "Type the text for 'New tiddler'" were automatically highlighted so that it could be erased easily (without having to manually highlight it, which is a pain particularly in Tear). If that's not possible, is there a way to take out the sentence altogether and just have that area blank? (Fortunately, and wonderfully, the Title "New Tiddler" is automatically highlighted.)

Again, Thanks! This is really useful.

That sounds good too

By the way, I don't plan to update this wiki, I wanted to share it with Maemo community so that someone can continue development or get inspired.

Feel free to change it, rename it etc.

GeraldKo, I've attached a version without default text

Don't forget to make backups often. It is easy to lose data.

This is fantastic. Thank you.

When I save I get a pop up window with a JavaScript confirmation and I have to "OK" the changes. I click OK and it pops up 3 more times. Is there a way to allow JavaScript from this specific file every time? I'm using the default browser (MicroB?).

Also I do like timsamoff's reccommendation of NittlyWiki, but I think I like NitWiki even better. Not that it matters, I'll just fork the project if you don't like it.

I know it is annoying but I don't know how to solve that. You can decrease the number of clicks by changing some options like autosave and backups. But I don't recommend to turn backups off. I have lost all my data once.

There is another topic about Tiddly Wiki, maybe it can help: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=7232

And you can call it whatever you want
