At the moment, both applications don't list the N900 as the supported device.
Anyway, I still had a go at installing both and connected the N900 to the PC with the USB cable and although both applications recognised the device, none of the applets worked.
So, the short answer is they don't support N900....yet!
Just found this but haven't tried it with the N900, but the application is limited to backing up only.

I'm looking for Maemo Suite for N900 where I can view and edit my Contacts on the PC before syncing them back to the device.
