zerojay: You don't have "Edit page" in your Annoying Floaty Bar?

The Midgard wiki is a bit unusual. When logged in there'll be a hovering menu up in the bar and you can move the cursor over the one that says 'Page'[1] to get to the edit menu.

I'm not particularly fond of it - it's quite different from other wikis, and it looks more or less messy depending on your browser, your default font size, and whatnot. And I tend to forget it - I recalled only when I was reading that page (which is about exactly this).

Fortunately pages with several sections have individual [edit] links, just like mediawiki.

EDIT: [1] or possibly 'Edit Page', the appearance is rather dependent of fonts and the factors I listed

I have never been able to login. I can edit things without logging in just fine but whenever I tried to login, it says my password is wrong, even though it works fine for garage. I think the link between the two systems for newer accounts is just broken.

That thing really is the worst. I recommend everybody try double-tap zooming in MicroB in the SDK. Half the time I end up hitting something in the Midgard toolbar.

By the way, I should give attribution where it is due. The inimitable sjgadsby used the term "Annoying Floaty Bar" before I did. I can't seem to find that exact phrase in any of his public posts, so he must have used it in a private message to me.

AFB aside... There is obviously a problem that doesn't go away just because of the "I can't see it" syndrome...

There are people (and bots) out there that will use these sites for their own advantage. They don't give a fig about the original content only the traffic it brings. As hits to the sites increase, so will these incidents.

Due diligence will be required as the organization and security of these sites will reflect, for some, the organization and security of the device and OS itself.

Thanks qwerty12

(No, I have nothing to do with maemo.org - I'm just a normal member.)
That was quick!
