I really dont think Nokia expected this experimental (number 4 of 5) item to be such a massive hit and its taken them by surprise.
I think they have out done them selves LOL
Not happy about device number 5 maybe NOT having a keyboard though.....

Cos it was finally with this phone, iphonie, that the North Americans got something to play with... Before this was Motorola(which has fewer functionalities than my potty)...

And if our brothers from North America dont know this its because they never stepped outside Utah. Just going to Japan or EU would have opened their eyes...

And now the bar was set high with iphonie...

AT&T has the iPhone for now (and their adoption of other smartphones, e.g. Android, Pre,etc..) is slow probably due to them worrying about upsetting their relationship with Apple. TMobile has their hands full with Android.

So I don't think Nokia cares so much about the US market right now.
That about sums it up pretty well.

I am in the US too and have no Nokia store like NYC has, so even less awareness here in the great state of Kentucky

Still, support is kind of nice when spending $620 delivered on a product. The N900, like any sexy lady, has seduced me with its hardware and sweetness. Question is, when I let it in the door is it going to turn on me and leave?

I actually like that the device probably will ship at the end of the month. Gives me more time to see if this N900 will be loyal or dump me before the honeymoon is over.

Sorry, too many analogies.

BTW, I was in the Marines for years and also lived in England for four years (wife is from there). I gots' some serious international skills

I appreciate the perspective.... I miss living in England- pubs, Page 3 girls, Indian food. Mmmmmm.

The N810 is not too bad for a 'UAT' device though.

Remember, it's not device number 5, it's step 5.

After living in Kentucky for about six years, yeah... the very idea of a Nokia store anywhere near there brings a grin to my face.

Also, the device is no more a phone than it is an FM transmitter, a keyboard, or a GPS receiver. It has a phone capability. It's not a phone, and it's not marketed as such.

zerojay, the irony is there are more geeks in them thar' hills than you would think. Broad band is everywhere!

fnordianslip- Great point, but what the heck is it suppose to be? Lack of ID in marketing to consumers equals geek-only sales.
