I think most phones in China use sim cards. Any way to make the n900 use sim-card or can it be done?

1) Not aware n900 use sim cards ?! Do they?
2) If it does, can one buy n900 in USA and travel to china, and insert those local sim card, your phone will work?
Last time I was in China, for 2 weeks duration, I bought a phone in china and bought their local sim card to use the phone locally, the total cost still cheaper than my Atnt roaming charge!
Anybody has any idea about sim card in n900?
Question: Do this spec implies n900 is using sim cards?

I am not too familiar with the different forms of 3G, but from what I've read, WCDMA and TD-SCDMA are both covered under UTMS. Am I correct? Assuming so, does the N900 fully support UTMS?
as a side note, I'd be happy to help with any Chinese translation for the n900 if I can get my hands on one over here
