omapfb is only one way of rendering video overlay. It's actually causing some problems when embedding mplayer with omapfb rendering in applications, so most applications embedding mplayer use xv rendering, which is more stable, but has other bugs and is slightly slower.

Hi all,

I have just uploaded Digia @scene ver 1.0.5 to extras.

New features:

* The user can resume stream after viewing another screen

* The user can have locally stored content available when in offline mode (already quite well working in 1.0.4)

* The user can make a full uninstallation of the application or uninstallation that preserves the database

Bugs fixed:

* Correct the wrong status of Play/Pause button after several clicking

* Correct the HW Back button in Maemo device

The Ubuntu version is available from www.digia.com/video

Yours,

Tuukka Turunen

I tried to install digia@web i got
"conflict with application packages: libqt4-sql-sqlite (4.5.0-1maemo2)
libqt4-sql(4.5.0-1maemo2)
digia@scene works fine. I mean the volume seems low but i guess I just got used to the N95 8gb speakers.

This is one of the best maemo applications, that I have used so far! It still has some usability issues, but surely on a right track!

Hi again,

Sorry for being quiet for some time. Now we have new version of Digia @scene. We have included some more optimizations and several bug fixes - and one new feature - support to HD video from YouTube.

I have just uploaded to Maemo extras so hopefully the 1.0.6 version is available soon.

Currently we are working with two areas: Support to N900 and adding new video services (so that one can use more than just YouTube content). We also made a test port to S60 using Qt and it worked otherwise nicely exept that we did not find such component that plays video with decent frame rate with the formats offered by YouTube.

Please try out 1.0.6 and post your feedback to this thread or via e-mail to support.product@digia.com

Yours,

Tuukka
