You know, a lot of people are new to smartphones, or are looking to upgrade to a smartphone that is 1 or 2 generations ahead of what they have. So, when you get a new device, you are going to notice and enjoy it great features which are going to be a lot more than you're used to; and find workarounds for its limitations. Mostly, most phones are going to work for most people.

The point is that it is important to get the device out there for people to evaluate and buy. Like the Droid, or HD2, or 3GS. So, that drbytes got the HD2 is mainly on Nokia. I'm glad he/she likes it, I don't see why some people's ideological fixation has any bearing what phones people are allowed to buy without being vilified.

nice, but buying a HD2 just for browsing is the dumbest excuse ever, delivery also, it is the idea behind things and if you are fine with microsoft in your back ok, I dont buy things from microsoft or t-mobile, if I get something for free ok but idealistic thoughts keeps me from devil contracts and software, a device needs to be capable to run open source or its not on my shopping list! even my W880i (was for free) is running linux as backend dont know why they swapped to WM with their X series

Why not t-mobile? From what i've seen, they seem to have the best deals, i'm hoping for an n900 on t-mobile, the HD2 on t-mobile is £35/mo for 700 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data, for 18months vs Vodaphone with 900mins but 24months. Also unlike most of the AUP's t-mobile wont charge you more if you go over the "fair amount" (unlike orange).

I'm not sure why drbytes posted and I would not have used his choice of special characters but instead of attacking him like a bunch of insecure fanboys who feel they are destined to lose the game, listen to what he has to say.

In other places there are many suggestions for many apps that could/should/will be written for the N900. Let's not forget that polishing the basic apps can go a long way towards swaying consumers. Take the browser.

While buying a smartphone just for browsing may be as dumb as Chemist says, the fact of the matter is that people with smartphones use the browser a lot. Can the N900's browser be made faster, be made better?

Focus on making the N900 experience (not the N900 potential) so good that we can have N900 users posting notes like this on the HTC site.

HD2 with WM and Coreplayer will be a MUCH better option than if it had Android. Stuck with only MP4 then and itty bitty app space.

Still, the HD2 sux butt compared to the N900

Don’t you have a forum for you miserable HD2. I think it’s not really polite to have all these treads about hD2. Go play in another place. This is for maemo. Now, please, get lost…

Sincerely people should focus on maemo. This are people paid by companies, some sort of new advertisement.
I have more thing to do than go to HD2 site.
