Well according to the people who have a preproduction device on twitter, there has been a FW release today. 11.16.09
Which enables the portrait mode.
Excuse me if I'm wrong. Solid information seems hard to come by
But it looks legit to me

Yes there is an update today and no it does not enable portrait browsing. We will all have to wait until December when hopefully Nokia release the updates for browser portrait mode.
the picture shared above by someone, is by someone that has access to Nokia internal builds.
I guessing that the N900 has generated such a buzz that they had to implement this before general release as opposed to December.
Oh and by the way who will be the first to do a N900 vs Droid/3gs comparison vid?
