The bug should be fixed in software release 1.1, which Nokia Sweden thought would be done week 49 (starts Nov 30).

Hi,

I have been reading through this thread and find it strange.

I have been using a pre-release N900 with a 3 sim card for some time now without any rejections. Also the rejection only applies to 2G phones not 3G ones.

I just updated the software this very moment to the new software and it still works fine.

It's only some 3 SIMs, I believe.

That's because Three can't tell that you have 3G turned off. For all Three know, you have it set to dual mode; but are living in an area without any 3G/3.5G coverage.

3 is the reason our N900s got pushback as Nokia tries to fix the 3 sims issue :/

It seems pretty plausible that that's the reason. Nokia Italy & France have now shipped N900s to their customers. & if you see this bug report (link below), it is confirmed that Italian '3' SIM cards are strangely unaffected...

By pushing back the delivery date, which in turn shortens the amount of time the 3 users will have to wait to use the N900. It's definately a good move by Nokia!

I was on to 3 last night for my PAC so my number will be transfered to vodaphone when the n900 actually gets to my shore. 45 mins!! later with the 3 guy trying to make me stay with them saying the n900 will most PROBABLY be in use with them in jan or feb.He then offered me a deal of £14 a month to stay with them and SEE WHAT HAPPENS in jan or feb. Hence I clung on for my PAC. Sod him!
