@fouro, agree with all you said.

as far as this poll is concerned, a reasonable picture can be drawn only if a a good number of people participate in it. As it stands right now, it is too early to judge.

are you kidding me? after all I've been reading about it, and the amount of time we've waited for it...there's no freakin' way I'm returning this for a full refund.

I don't get the big deal with portrait mode. It does nothing but annoy me on the iphone, when I accidentally tilt the screen. So for the N900 not to automatically rotate is great for me.

My netbook never had a rotate feature and it didn't bother me.

Never

I suspect that a lot of the software "faults" are due to people being unfamiliar with the os. I thought I bricked my internet browser after messing with the settings.

But after retracing my steps I had it back and running as smooth as shea butter lol

By the way I love this device

I love my N900, and there would be no way I would be taking mine back for a refund. It is the best £300 I have spent on a gadget for a long time.

yeah but what i'm actually trying to state is u can't text with one hand when using the n900. And if u ever used any other nokia accelerometer phone u would know u can disable it if u don't like it so having that option is something i prefer in a "handheld device".

Netbook isn't a handheld portable device is it? And yes i own one too acer AOA150 but i never find myself walking around with it, but if i do want to used it 90 sideways i can change the settings on my graphic card software to do so

I think the more fingers on the device (and in some cases, eyes on the code) will likely make 1.1 better than had they waited to release the device until 1.1. I don't think Nokia has gone out of their way to promote this product to the masses because their initial target audience are their previous internet tablet customers. If there were frequent TV commercials for this phone and big carriers pushing it, I might be a little more concerned about the bugs this early on. Some people might not be happy about effectively paying a high price tag to be a beta tester, I'm happy for the opportunity, especially with the promise this device shows.

Look at the initial G1 Android phone. There was little to no promotion of the device to the mass market prior to its release. The initial devices had plenty of little bugs and annoyances followed by rapid improvement in the OS and apps. The follow-up Android phones (some of which are heavily promoted), and those G1 owners using community developed ROMs are now enjoying the benefits of more fingers on the device.

I obviously voted NO to turning my phone in for a refund!

Yes, I'm afraid that I will return my loaner N900 to Nokia in April as agreed and I'm sure they will give me a full refund.
