i have the same problem, the mic doesn't work, i have test with all the application that use it but nothing to do. I'm so sad...

My batch is the same batch as those with mic + tv out defects.
Trying to narrow down if it got something to do with first charge.

At the moment all I can say is

DO NOT CHARGE FIRST THEN TURN ON YOUR N900!

and use N97's charger if possible
i have a feeling these N900's adapters are screwed
lol

i didnt do any of this. my phone works just fine

i have use the phone before charge it, i think that the idea to don't charge first the turn on it is bad...i think there are a lot of N900 fault...

My prayers go out to people suffering from this stupid Mic plague ... Seriously, Nokia should be sued heavily for all this insanity they have caused .. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


But anyways, I had a question or two ... Is this problem more European-concentrated or US concentrated, or both .. ? Secondly, is there anyone here who received their phone from Amazon, experienced this problem ?

It's in Extra-testing...
I think it's probably a bug in this app.

No, I've seen mic fail on device without voice recorder installed.

The recorder is in Maemo select - not only tested but nokia-approved.
