Hello.
I was trying to install few applications, some of them installed without any problems, but some just gave me "Application package not found" error. When checking logs, all of those that failed were trying to fetch from https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/...

My mobile can't also connect to Nokia Applications and Nokia System Software Updates catalogues(failed to refresh - timed out with red icon).
Is the site down or is it my n900? Also, in details of those 2 Nokia catalogues should the distirbution field be filled with "./"? There is "freemantle" in Maemoe Extras and it actually works.

Uhm, can anyone actually download Bounce Evolution?
When I try to get manually the package, I get acces denied when going to https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/apps/

Any ideas what to do?

I d/led Bounce without trouble from the maemo-select repository through my n900. I used the applications manager. with just the nokia and maemo-select repositories enabled.

My only problem with it is that's I've never used an accelerometer game before and it's addictive...

I had an issue with the Nokia repos originally when trying to install stuff using wifi, but I noticed it was OK over the cellular network. I tried using nslookup to do a DNS query on the Nokia repo - it took a very long time to give an answer over wifi, but did it immediately over cell.

Other machines on my wifi network were able to get DNS lookups for the same nokia URLs without issue. I set my N900s DNS servers manually, to point at my ISPs DNS servers, and now its all fine (although there are still different issues with extras-devel).

Having said this, I have often had DNS issues with my ISP, and my Draytek Vigor 2820vn router is also known to have DNS issues itself, so I normally point most of my machines at another linux box running dnsmasq as their primary DNS server. I know that the N900 uses dnsmasq itself, and pointing it at the other box running dnsmasq didn't help, so I pointed it straight upstream.

I know this might not help anyone else, but then again I thought it worth mentioning.

Exactly... taht was the issue...
I have checked the file /etc/resolve.conf
there was a line

nameserver 127.0.0.1

replaced with my dns server (got from ADSL Router) and it works extreme fast

I'm guessing that resolv.conf might not be the best place. I'd change it in the gui for your wlan specifically, or you'll bypass the devices dns caching proxy, which might not be the best plan.

I have this problem since the preproduction model was flashed recently. I can't seem to alter the distribution....I'll look into it later...that is search for an answer.

Don't be surprised if your device doesn't work anywhere else than in your own WLAN anymore.
