would it be possible to replace the history2 and bookmarks2 tabs in dashboard with something that pages thru bookmarks or history? And would that even make sense?

I was wondering what to put there, any ideas are welcome. The address completion is sorted by last access too, mind you.

So I broke my tablet back out recently and decided to check out what was going on in the N8XX world nowadays. And I've gotta say, Tear has been a great surprise! I'm back to carrying the NIT in my pocket now because your browser is so quick and reliable. Fantastic work, guys!

Quite simply THE BEST possible browser for a NIT... I am still in awe how is it possible to have so drastic boost in performance. Thumbs up!!!!

if one avoid using the dpad to scroll beyond the beginning of a text area holding text, its reliable in my experience...

mostly i would say its a issue of javascript processing, as comparing load time of this forum in its tablet theme show very little difference between microb and webkit...

but if one load any highly scripted page (most current news pages for example), one will see a clear difference.

and it do not help that just about any ad system is javascript powered...

Hi
Thanks for this web browser that looks quite promising.

Do you have any plans to also port it to the N900 ?
Thanks !

There are a number of areas where Tear fails;
- The select-to-copy process is very jumpy/unreliable,
- You can't install a deb that requires a new repo (you can do this fine with browserd)
- Wacthing any video links
- When entering a post in tmo and something 'happens' like gpodder finishing looking for new episodes, etc - Tear often freezes, gives a white page and you have to kill the process (no such issues with browserd)
- dpad scrolling is a pain
- I still have no idea how to return in my homepage when in full-screen mode. in browserd 'homepage' is part of the bookmark options

There are other issues as well but since I now only use Tear when I know I will do nothing but pure browsing I can't remember all of them.
