Looking forward to hearing your thoughts once you get it. I've decided myselt to wait (probably just my nature). And I'm mostly not sure I want to pay more a month for a data plan. And I'm still vaguely thinking about getthing the N86 for the camera. But that doesn't mean I'm not jealous of anyone who's going to have an N900 soon.

I'm on a 24 month plan that gives me unlimited Australian calls and 3GB of data for $105pm (plus a 3GS iPhone) so I'm not worried about data costs.

Well it's arrived and I've not opened it as I'm so torn as to whether to open and use it or sell it and buy something else.

Thanks but no!
Quite frankly some of the threads and posts here have scared me.
I'm scared it'll reboot or I won't be happy with the relatively limited phone features.
I need to think about it at least overnight (23.36 here in Sydney).

OMG dude, your package arrived and you won't open it? x| We're still waiting here in Denmark.

Some specific problems that worry you?

Cause there might be threads on lots of problems, but I've been through some of them, and an answer or a solution is also a part of these threads!

The two items I've mentioned.

1. Frequent rebooting (lots of very negative comments).
2. Limited phone features and functions (There's no indication of when there'll be upgrades other than the portrait mode one).

When in doubt- DON"T.

Phone function seems to be important to you (N900 is NOT phone-centric), so you may want to wait. Also, if you live in an area that does not have a good signal, or drive in areas a lot that have a weak signal, the GPRS radio on the N900 is weak and you will probably lose data and phone connection a lot.

On the other hand, if you live in an area with good coverage, the actual phone call quality is amazing and the phone function is not as bad as it seems. Then again, if you want a smart phone and do not care about the features the N900 has, there are better options. The N900 is truly a netbook in a phone form factor that also has phone function.

I am hoping the GPRS signal is a bug just like the wifi at default apparently is.
