Hi,

I have setup Nokia Messaging to retrieve mails from my Google Apps domain, and I receive all the mails, but Im unable to send. I simply get a box stating "Unable to send mail".

Nokia Messaging is setup to use the standard smtp.gmail.com on port 465. Should I use something else?

Please help.

If its using port 465 it will be using SSL - check if your user info ( account username and password ) are set up correctly for outgoing mail.

Sorry if you already knew this!

Are you also using Mail for Exchange?
It did not work for me when both services were active.

Ahh crap.. Yes, Im using MfE for synching my contacts and calendar from google.

Did you have to delete your MfE "account"?

I got it working.

When you are creating a new email, there is a "From" box at the top. I had 2 identical entries in that. Probably 1 for Nokia Messaging and 1 for MfE. I used the other and wupti, the mail was sent, so Im happy again

There must be a bug in the email client, because it only works 3 out of 10 times. If I delete the MfE account it works 100%, but that's really not a solution for me.

I'm using WIFI (KPN Internet bellen) or 3G Vodafone in the Netherlands with my new N900 and I have a problem with sending E-mail. This is what I did:

- Planet Internet (NL) had been selected from the providers list. In that case: I do retrieve my mail but can't send any through the accoount itself.
- I also tried the server name of Vodafone in the settings of my Planet Internet account setup for outgoing mail. Did not work either. I called Vodafone, the N900 is not supported (yet?) bij Vodafone NL. Try using settings N97. No news there.
- So I also made an account with Nokia Message using the same E-mail adress as username and the same inlogcode I use for Planet Internet to log in (Is that what you need to or can do?). Did not work either (sending part).
- I did not use any verification.

My questions:
- Anyone in the Netherlands doing fine sending E-mails on wifi and Vodafone??
- Any clues?

Would be very nice, Using modest is faster than using my Gmail account! I use that as a work around now.

just checked in my N810 and used mail.planet.nl in stead of kpnmail: works for now!!!
