Try opening Google in the browser, going to Google.com and at the bottom clicking "Google.com in English". No idea if it'll work or not, as I don't have a N900 yet, but I assume this widget opens the browser for the search results?

Tried that, it does go to the English page but the next time i use it from the widget or toolbar it's back to 'buscar'.
