Small question in the hope someone has found the answer to this.

If I create an entry in the calendar, I set the name, date, time... then I have to scroll down and select the alarm. By default it is set to '15 minutes before'. Now, I hate alarms. I never want to set an alarm, other than my alarm clock. I certainly don't want alarms for calendar entries.

Has anyone found a way of setting the calendar alerts so 'off' is default? Either a 'total off' setting, or at least set the entry field default to 'none' so I don;t have to fuss with it every time

Please? I've poked around the calendar and I can't find it. I know it's a tiny, tiny issue. But it's just awkward.

Without looking too deeply into it, chances are "not yet" is part of the answer. I don't know what this calendar is based on, but I didn't have it in Maemo 4. We know that PIM and phone centric software is where the N900 is underdeveloped, so while I'm sure it'll come eventually, I would not be surprised it isn't here yet.

My one little tip for less annoyance is: you can change the alarm sound from "chime" to another sound clip, i.e. one that plays half a second of silence. That should minimize the problem somewhat. Although I think it'll still vibrate.

Also, I guess someone who has better insight in this particular piece of software might be able to find some settings file or code line that can be hacked to disable alarms.
