Have you tried rebooting? Maybe it will clean up some cached information in the pic viewer.

Today I had the same problem.
I deleted all the pictures that were in the library and always got that message. In my case it where only 3 picutes and trying to delte them manually didn't hurt
.
Then I did
I reopened the media player, and then everything was as expected.
Now I think the deletion was necessary to make them vanish. But I'm not sure, because I did not try to only reset the tracker.
