i searched the the vodafone website. i cant find any plan for me that would send mms cheaper the 0.50 cent per message. Here we only have plans/bundles for pretty much 3 things: voice, sms and internet.
thats why i even for sms i use the internet like voipbuster (or any other betamax provider) and now we have WebTexter application that integrates more and more with the N900 so we can easily (and cheaply) send them!
wait i didnt start that "out of sync"...
I started today with saying.. "ahh now i get it.. its the states that are wanting and complaining about mms.." because around me i havent heard even 1.
And when i said that somebody told me that i was out of sync?
I just said 1 thing. that i dont get why people are not complaining more about another missing feature that are on other phones for a long long time and thats voice dialing.. thats even dangerous for loads of people NOT to have... (not to mentioned that using your phone in your hand in your car is even forbidden here and i think it most countries at least in Europa)
Also i agree with another comment over here.. if you really dont have an good internet plan on your phone.. why buy the n900...
Or are you really always in the neighborhood of WIFI stations.. I know in the states those are a bit more wide spread then over here.. So yeah that could be an option.
for me its 10 euro's for pretty much unlimited (not really but they never complained yet) 3.5G internet per month thats the same as sending 20 mms..

Nokia already has MMS picture function in their s60 devices, how frukin' hard is it for them to add the function to the N900 and Maemo5?

The only big question I have is why it wasn't put in. Im started to think that mms is more complicated than we think. if it's such a basic feature, why wouldn't Apple or Nokia put it in? They aren't stupid, and obviously couldn't have forgot about it so there must be a reason...maybe there are some drawbacks for having it...any ideas?

Because to use email you need a dataplan. And a lot of users with pay-as-you-go sims don't have a dataplan. In fact, data on pay-as-you-go in the UK is prohibitively expensive. Remember, the phone companies charge a flat rate to send an MMS and nothing to recieve it. For email, they get to charge both sender and receiver.
On the other hand, it costs Granny nothing to recieve an MMS pic of the grandchildren. And should she ever get clever enough to want to send us a shot of herself living it up at the tea dance, it will come cheaply out of her pay-as-you-go credit without any problem.
Damn, now I miss my Granny.

*stops beating the dead horse and goes back to implementing MMS*
Problem with fMMS? Run in x-terminal: cp /tmp/fmms.log /home/user/MyDocs/
After that you'll see fmms.log in filemanager or when you connect the device to your desktop as a mass storage device.
E-mail the log to me, if you don't have the email address, drop me a PM. Thanks!
