I did order screenprotector from Pdair.com and got it today. I supposed that its not bid deal install protector to N800, did ofcourse read instructions carefully first.

I did clean screen with cleaning cloth that come with screenprotector package and then installed protector.. Protector has sticker that says ´this sticker helps to remove etc..´ Sticker couldnt be removed from screen protector film it did leave bad glue marks that couldnt be removed. (I tryed wash protector film later when it was removed no help). Ok.. Then I tryed remove protector of N800 course it didnt look very nice (with those sticker glue marks).. Removing protector film did pull my N800 screen/remove screen of N800 also.. My N800 screen had bubbles when protector was removed..

I did think that it did do permanent damage to N800 screen. Thank lord.. I managed press those air bubles away of N800 screen with that soft cleaning cloth and peace of cardboard to sides of N800 screen.

I can understand that there would be bubbles like that at protector film when it is installed, but when I remove film and it pulls/makes bubbles to N800 own screen.. Not very nice thing at all.

This may sound silly, but: Did you first remove the screen protector that was already on your N800's screen?

Is there two screen protector films at N800? I did remove one when I got device. That one was easily noticeble at device screen.

OK, so you did. That means you bought a very defective product (the screensaver, not the N800). Unless you noticed the same kind of bubbling when you removed Nokia's screen protector, in which case your N800's screen is defective.

I have never had any problems with N800 screen before.

But after removing this protector film my screen had air bubbles.. I could push those bubbles off screen with soft cloth and cardboard. Just like you would do for protector film if it had air bubbles, but those were at N800 screen after I removed/pull protector film off.

I think i wont try any protector films for some time after this. But this is common in life if you do something that is supposed be total simple and no problems at all.. Then something suddenly happends..

I did look my N800 screen more closely, especially corners/edges. It looks like that there would be edges at corners.. Its possible that there is already screen protection film at my N800. But when I did get device I did pull one protection off screen. One thing is sure, i am not trying to claw it off if there is one.. Dont understand why anyone should, only maybe after years if it goes bad. If there is film it would explain those air bubbles. Anyway I leave my screen alone it is good now.

Let me give you this to consider: What if the bubbles you saw did not come from a second screen protector (which, granted, is always possible: a shift switch at the wrong moment might result in a N800 with two screen protectors), but did in fact come from you pulling loose the N800's digitizer? I don't know what the N800's digitizer looks like (I do know that Newtons have a double plastic layer setup) and neither (I surmise) do you. If my worst-case scenario holds out, you might be in big trouble down the line...

I ended up using a psp screen protector on my n800. Its a complete horror to actually put on the device however, once you manage to get it on it is top notch. Vertically the screens have about the same size but due to the different 16:10 and 16:9 aspects on the different devices you need to trim a little bit off of the horizonal axis for a great fit. Also note, the pack comes in twos because they are certain that you will screw the first one up. You only get one chance to put a screen protector on and if you mess it up then you may as well move on to the next one. No visable dust is acceptable, it will leave a bubble so be careful.
