even iphone as a hack for animated wallpaper so it should be more than doable in a open platform like maemo, its just finding some one who cares enough to do it and share the how to.

it would be nice to have some animated gifs for wallpapers like the old days..

Reminds me of lavalamps people used to buy back in the day's.

I bet you care about the battery life after 1 week of using a thing like that. No offence mate

It is possible. Considering on Chinook/Diablo (Maemo 3) we had animated wallpaper (well more like playing a video as a background) and automatic wallpaper changing on a timer. I forget who did it though.

Only problem was it sucked your battery life up pretty quickly so I only used it when plugged into a power source lol.
