Any hints on what I am doing wrong? Some header missing? I am using the text/calendar mime-type.

*EDIT:* The problem was that I had connected the N900 to the computer (so MyDocs wasn't available to the N900). As soon as I disconnected it and tried clicking on the .ics-file, I got the "Open with Calendar"-button!

Thanks for the description of import/export!

I made a post over here http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=93

I think I might know now why it was not working for me, but need to test it out.

Tap: Settings, Connectivity, Mail for Exchange, Settings
Then scroll down the list and tap 'Synchronise calender and tasks' under 'Calender and tasks'.

For the time being I would recommend all of those trying to sync google calendar with N900 calendar to use Nuevasync (www.nuevasync.com). Get a free account there and give Nuevasync permission to stay in sync with your google account. Then, the website will tell you to set up a mail for exchange profile using Nuevasync's server settigs. Your N900 will sync just perfectly with Nuevasync, which in turn is in perfect sync with google.

On the website you can choose which google services you want to sync. Options for a free account consist of calendar, tasks, contacts (works extremely well, got 150+ contacts in sync without missing info / misplaced info / etc). Push e-mail is only available for premium (paid) accounts but that's not a big problem since the N900's built-in mail application works quite well with google mail.

So basically, Nuevasync is a perfect solution until Nokia finally manages to sync the N900 properly with google services, and maybe even after that. Spread the word.

Do you have an example of an .ics file that you can import in the N900 without problem?

(I have filed a bug here with my examples:

This would be a perfect way to get my shared (like my clubs play calendar for the year) to get into the n900. But shared calendars dont seem to have the ical option

@FreddyFish: I use nuevasync since December and it works but I won't call it perfect.
- all calendars are merged to the N900 standard calendar
- up-syncing (N900 to nuevasync to google) seems not to work, at least not if multiple calendars are used.
- syncing sometimes works, sometimes I get an error.

So, It works - far from being perfect.

BTW, I'm still searching for a perfect solution to sync multiple calendars to somewhere on the web for free. Any hints are highly appreciated :-)
