First thing when I got home after work was update over WiFi. The N900 still had lots of battery left since I took it off the charger this morning, so I just started the update.

I had only 40 MB free on the rootfs but still gave it a try, and it worked flawlessly. Just be careful to avoid extras-devel like the plague and no problems should occur.

Run 'apt-get clean'. Wipes all the downloaded .deb packages.

I see the Maemo 5 update in the Application manager and everytime I try to install it, it says I have to run it through NSU...

I tried everything thing like cleaning up the rootfs ( It has 60.3M available ) as in earlier posts but it still not working....

I also tried to update it through NSU but it seems that it deletes all your applications...

Can anyone please help me?

How can I update to PR1.1 without NSU(which removes some data) ? It gave me some message like "To update your device to this version of operating system you should use NSU" But I think I dont have to use NSU, do I? It seems like its related about my rootfs usage. How much free space does it need? I have 25~ megabytes.

Do you lot know how frustrating is it sitting in a business meeting where yo have a dodgy 2g signal, knowing an update like this iswaiting for you?

All done and dusted. No tantrum needed. Now I'm off to explore.
