I was thinking about the following feature and I was wondering if it is worth creating a new brainstorm.

There should be an option so that only the registered screen taps should trigger the vibration and sound. E.g. If i mistarget and click an empty space nothing should happen. That way i'll know immediately that i have to try again. Also there should be no vibration when swiping in this mode.

what do you think?

That's exactly what I've been thinking! Haptic feedback is not really useful if it doesn't actually relay any information such as hitting an active element.

It should vibrate/click only when touching a button, form element and so on - simulate clicking a physical element.

it might be really hard to get working (if that is possible in the first place) but worth it.

Related to this, I would find it helpful if we could choose to require a double click before action is taken on a link. Many times I find I have inadvertently activated a link by either a shaky hand or when trying to scroll. I don't know how difficult that would be to implement but it would help me greatly.

Haptic feedback on elements only would be great, I would also love a stronger vibration if possible

If that would have been easy, it would have been done already. This is definitely the way it is intended to work, so it doesn't really require a brainstorm item. Just more time and resources to implement it.

I do not know if it would be possible to do this as a community add-on, but the answer to this may very well be no (as it would have to touch many low and high level components for a properly integrated experience).
