When I looked at my phone today there is a crack forming on the right side of my phone am gutted. I assume this will not be covered in the warranty. The annoying thing is that I have been so careful. Never been heavy handed or dropped the phone and this has appeared. I have never had a crack on a phone before so don’t know if they can be changed or how easy this is.
Does anyone know if this can be done? How do you do it and is it expensive?

Thanks for any help.

Disassembling the device and reassembling it does work. There is a you tube video which shows how to do it. Watch here.

I've never done it myself. I also don't know where to get a 2nd screen. Maybe nokia.com?

Thanks. that all looks a bit risky to me. I will probably bust the phone doing that lol. do you think nokia will repair damage to screens?

If the crack is inside the screen, in a way that it's obvious it couldn't have been caused by user damage, they should give warranty
Even if it isn't, it doesn't hurt to ask before dishing out 100 euros (that's the price i saw on a site that sells parts) and taking your toy to surgery

Maybe the warranty can help you, ask directly to Nokia for that. I've heard of people who received their N900 with some screen defects, like dead/stuck pixels or screen not properly adherent to the phone, and warranty should cover these problems. If you are able to prove that that damage has been caused by manifacturing defects (for example screen proper assembly lacking) than warranty is the solution.
