Just to clarify, I'm not contradicting you, just stating that I've never known the password, and I've never tried to change it...but the various ways I've connected to AT&T always worked, including tethering.

@colnago: I just wanted to clarify for benefit of anyone following this thread or reviewing it in the future, as well as making sure the information got to you since you were unaware of what the password is.

this is still not working T_T i dont know wtf is wrong all my settings are correct and it still says connection failed T.T

I'm in the Los Angeles area and my AT&T Media Net works fine. The only problem is my data network shuts off when I get a phone call.

Try using the same SIM card on another phone and see if it connects. If it works you probably need to reset, if not reflash, your phone. If not, it's ATT's fault, probably your account is not set up correctly.

What firmware are you using? Go to "setting->about product," and you will see the version information.

I always need to try 2-3 times before my n900 can establish a connection with ATT from a fresh boot. This occurs on both 2009.42 and 2009.51.

i finally fixed it att gave me a new sim card and now it works flawlessly thanks everyone for ur help edge is not that slow im happy
