There is a widget called shake2control that allows you to change/pause music by shaking the device. The package is in extras-testing : http://maemo.org/packages/view/shake2control/

say you are browsing a webpage and you want to change a song. you can pull up the media shortcut popup like the iphone or simply use keyboard shortcuts to change tracks etc.
