pretty much topic

i've tried with actual media player and with SIB (front-end for mplayer) and media player says it can't do it, and SIB can't even see the files!!

thanks for any and all help guys
edit: ignore that first bit :P

i've now gone through and realised that in fact, mplayer plays rm(vb) files perfectly well, but, the n900 is too slow!

so i wanted to ask what kind of optimisations you guys reckon i could use so far i've tried changing the vo, framedropping settings and the like, but i reckon the biggest drain is the fact it's caling the video, is there a way i can change what type of scaling it uses?

thanks!

Have you considered maybe encoding the files into another format, like mpg? I do that with some movie files and it plays smoothly and saves space since I use a smaller resolution as well when I encode.

but rmvb = 22 min @ 60MB!!

it's an awesome compression, the same avi file is >140MB
