Is there any official solution to pre-download the maps to a N900 device?

Thanks

Using Nokia Map Loader worked fine for me (you need the latest version though).

I tyred Map Loader http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/ovi-maps-beta-for-mobile. and the n900 is not sported.

also is there a way to sync your online data with your n900 as the Ovi maps video above suggests.

It's Nokia's older tool for downloading maps to phones (Ovi Suite now includes this functionality but doesn't support the N900) - a quick hunt around led to http://www.nokia.co.uk/apps-and-serv...s-and-services (that's the UK site, but you should be able to find it on your local Nokia site as well).

via map loader or mass-storage mode - the choice is yours!

Hi!
A for your information:
At least in my case the N900 + Nokia map loader + 64bit Windows7 combination did not work. The N900 does not get recognized correctly. I have read that other people have had same problems probably due to 64 bit Windows.

...but in the end the mass storage mode worked well. (there is a thread linked above by Rob1n and this whole process is explained step by step.)

Anyone the least bit computer knowledgeable should give Open SSH a try. I hate using mass storage mode and with SSH, I just move things, such as music, wallpapers, maps over the wlan. I could even speak on the phone while I do it!
