On the N810 we had the ability to "fit width to view". I know about the double-tap zoom, and the swirling spiral for zoom, but I haven't found anything way to reflow the text, similar to what we used to get with the N810. I used to use it for a few websites with complicated layout that had wide text columns with small fonts---and it it worked brilliantly for that purpose. (Particularly with the X RandR hack that gave portrait mode to the N810.)

I find a shortcut
Ctrl + Shift + I Reset zoom to normal or Turn on page reflow for any zoom level
in http://wiki.maemo.org/N900_shortcuts_and_gestures, but it doesn't seem to do much for me.

What's the best way to get text reflow on websites, so I get a slightly larger font? I can read the smaller font, but not when the bus/train is bouncing around.

Reflow isn't present afaik, but you can change text size in browser settings

Fit to width is feature in Opera browser. I don't think any of the Gecko-family browsers (Firefox, MicroB, etc.) can actually do it.

I'm guessing that if you want Fit to width you just have to cross your fingers and hope that Opera brings Opera Mobile to Maemo 5/6

edit. All this is just basically a guess as I don't own N900.
edit#2. Actually, it might be in about:config in desktop firefox so perhaps it is possible nowadays.

HTC owns the reflow um.. patent. Talk about ridiculous laws.

But I'd like to see opera mobile on Maemo, yep.

Actually the N810 has this option, and I used it alot.

Alan, as said in the thread, you just go to settings and adjust the fontsize.

On my N810 I read Greader's iPhone version in portrait, 180 zoom and fitted to width. Initially I was disappointed to see, that the N900 didn't have this option, but the aforementioned does the same nice trick.

Reflow with Ctrl +Shift + I on Maemo5 works not on all websites. talk.maemo.org default theme cannot reflow, for instance, while the minimalist talk.maemo.org themes reflow well.
I like browsing talk.maemo.org with minimalist dark theme, reflowed in portrait mode on my N900.

That's useful. I am now giving it a try on the N900, and I am surprised by how different the site looks. 8-)

I found that I had to use a PC to change the forum skin, as the TMO control is one of the rare pages that doesn't render correctly on the N900. The Forum Skin setting (at Control Panel -> Edit Options -> Forum Skin, the last item on the page) gets chopped off side to side and you can't get to the dropdown.

It works just fine on my device. You sure you have the latest firmware.

There's a skin chooser on the bottom left of practically every page, have you tried it?
