I haven't been successful connecting with my company's Cisco VPN with both of the N900's VPNC GUI's.
On VPNC GUI I get the following message:
"Connecting...
Launching vpnc, please be patient...
route: SIOCDELRT: No such process
sending state in dbus: connected
vpnc:
peer selected (single) DES as "encryption" method.
This algorithm is considered to weak today
If your vpn concentrator admin still insists on using DES
use the "--enable1des" option.
Child exited ...
Disconnected!"
How can I enable the 1des option with the GUI clients? Or do I need to execute VPNC through the command line? (I am a complete linux newbie, though, so step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated!)

Yeah, those errors are due to attempting to remove a non-existant (at the time) TUN/TAP interface in some shell file under /etc/, I tracked it down but didn't get around to trying to fix it up (the shell file seems to be different that some of the other vpnc installs I have around).
After you've received the "dbus connect" message, back out of the window and try navigating to/pinging an intranet resource and see if it is indeed working. You might be pleasantly surprised

You have to minimize the application, and then you can start the programs.
When finnishing you open up the application and push disconnect
