hey there..bumped into this thread and saw all the chaos in here and thought i could help..well abhisheik these are the options you have if u want to get an n900 for urself..since cash is the only possible mode of payment here..it rules out all chance of online shoppin websites within the us becuase the address details have to macth and i dont know if theres a way to bypass this..so craigslist is an option if ur frend can contact the dealer and then ship the fone to u..the same would apply if u got pals kin dubai who can buy it and ship it..i blv there are chances tht the fone is available in india itself..will cost u a bomb thoough and could be another option instead of talkin all the trouble otherwise

Hey all.

Shouldn't we be trying to make Nokia realize that Indian market should not be ignored like this?

Go ahead and sign this petition http://www.petitiononline.com/N900/

And also here are my ramblings on N900 and its absence in the Indian market http://www.lordoftheweb.info/981/n900-in-india/

Any issues with using GPRS (Vodafone Live!) with Nokia N900 ??

Thanks and Regards

Hi Vivek,
u gotta enable the vodafone mobile connect service.
apparently this happens to most 3G phones on Vodafone. its best if u get some unlimited data pack. I used Aircel(Karnataka) for sometime wen i was in India on my N900.. worked nicely..

unlimited data pack is way over budget for mee or anyone for that matter. i think ppl will have to go for vodafone mobile connect till 3G is avalibale. BSNL gives good packages for around 400rs..i hope vodafone maintains that atleast and doesnt make it expensive .

Did you not get settings for Mobile Office? I hope, you have GPRS enabled on your SIM.

if you have not received the settings, call up Airtel customer care and ask them to send the settings to your mobile.

That would be the easy way!

just to inform users of vodafone live...i am able to use vodafone live on my n900. I smsed for the settings on their given no which u can find on their site and get the settings. you save them. but you have to go to internnet connections and manually enable to use http proxy has i found it doesnt get selected by default. once you do that and save and restart and u will be able to surf.

ENjoy !

I will be spending 2 months in Mumbai from the end of march. What would my best internet connectivity options be?
