I have successfully set-up my IMAP mail and SMTP server (in Modest). However I noticed that, when i send a mail, it is only stored locally on my N900. On my mail server my sent items are stored in INBOX.sent (a subdirectory of my inbox). So my guess is that does e-mail client can't find the expected sent-folder and just stores the mail locally. Is it possible to configure the folder in which sent mail should be copied. Or doesn't the e-mail client support copying sent mails to the server?

There is a bug report about this. I'll find it and post back.

There is a bug opened for this

https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2557

Also it seems it has been fixed in svn.

Edit: It hasn't been resolved. It has been moved to Brainstorm

You can do a manual move.
select your local sent mails folder You will see all your sent emails.
Now move the mails to a folder on your server.
Now do a send and receive and they should be synced to your sent folder on your server.
