hey guys,

im an owner of the n900 frm the last 2 months now.!
what i want it is, to swap the functionalities of power and the lock key!!
because of the awkward position of the lock/unlock button.

what happens is when im at work...i pick up my phone (usually with right hand) and then want to use it as "phone" only....and holding the phone in portrait position and trying to unlock with the lock/unlock button (which is facing my palm) is extremely difficult.
and to tell u the truth ive dropped my phone a couple of times in trying to unlock the phone in this position.
So either i have use both my hands for fraction of seconds or (the annoying way) press the power button, swipe and then ready up my phone.!

if by any tweak of sorts we could swap the functionalities it would be extremely comfortable!
moreover the lock/unlock button can be easily used instead power button, as zip could act as a press..!!(hope u got me..trying to to be technical.!)

thnks in advance

somekeystrokes

Tap your power button and then swipe it to unlock the device using your thumb.

If the power button was the lock key you'd have problems with key presses in the pocket

Actually, this is a great idea.

I alo would prefer a 1 click lock/unlock using the small power button.
It's much more natural and much quicker.
I highly doubt that it ever gets pressed accidently in the pocket.

Maybe there is some file we can change for this function?

What do you mean by "swap functionality"? At the moment there are at least three diffrent ways of unlocking the phone:
1. Using the unlock button on the side.
2. Slide the keyboard opened.
3. Pressing on the power button.
