I recently switched from mymenu to catorise. At first I thought catorise was very bad as most of the applications are uncategorized and fall under the "All" folder. I tried to run catorise from terminal as root to re-update the menu structure, and attached is the output.

Is this is a bug with catorise or mymenu messed my files up?

Can you do:

Code:
dpkg -S /usr/share/applications/hilldon/bluemaemo.desktop
Thanks in advance. What version of Catorise are you using?

Running "/opt/catorise/catorise configure" as root solved the uncategorized apps problem for me after installation.

The worrying question is why it didn't work in the first place. Did you have a prior version of Catorise installed? It's possible there's a bug in the upgrade path of postinst...

Can catorise mess up anything? Delete icons and so on if i use it?
If possible, will it revert back to its original state if i choose to uninstall it?

Nice app! Thanks a bunch!

No, it should be fine. In the very worse case (that I've had when I've broken things during development) you can turn R&D mode on, disable the lifeguard reset and uninstall the package.

If you uninstall it it will revert to the state it was in when you installed it. No files, apart from /etc/xdg/menus/hildon.menu are edited by Catorise.
