Ok, i installed Firefox on My N900.
Here is what i want to do. I play an online game , astro empires. The game has the ability to use "graphic packs" so as to llok different from the way it was originaly designed, allowing users to make the game more to their liking.
Essentialy, the browser has to know to load images from the local hard drive to display them in the browser windows.
There are some settings you need to do in the game itself, such as, letting the game know it uses graphics pack, and also, in the game settings, you input the path of the images from the local disk, as you can see in the image.

Now, to let the browser know he must load images from the local hard drive, i have to make a modification in the "prefs.js" file on mozilla firefox that i use on my windows PC.
The modification must be done while the browser is closed.
The lines that i have to add are the following:

user_pref("capability.policy.localfilelinks.checkl oaduri.enabled", "allAccess");
user_pref("capability.policy.localfilelinks.sites" , "http://alpha.astroempires.com http://beta.astroempires.com http://ceti.astroempires.com http://delta.astroempires.com http://epsilon.astroempires.com http://fenix.astroempires.com http://gamma.astroempires.com");
user_pref("capability.policy.policynames", "localfilelinks");

Questions:
Does the firefox on my N900 has a similar prefs.js file ? If it has, where is it ? If it doesn't have, do i have to make my own file where i must add the above line, that you may have noticed starts with
user_pref

Also, the drive on My N900, is it labbeled C like the C drive in windows ? because i need to know that in order to make the neccesary modification.

PS, i need a good file manager, you guys happen to know one ? One that lets me acces every folder on the phone, prefferably to see exactly how tha damned thing is structured.

Install rootsh -package and then mc (midnight commander). Then open terminal and first type "sudo gainroot". After that launch MC by typing "mc".

That should take you far, but be carefull not to **** up your phone

It does.

No. There are no drive letters in the Windoze sense in linux. Since Maemo is linux it generally follows Unix/linux-type file structures which means, in a nutshell, that everything, including drives and partitions are directories (and files). No drive letters.

D-livil is steering you in the right direction with Midnight Commander, it's by far my favorite linux file manger, a killer app. But it's in no way similar to Windows Explorer.

No offense, but if you don't even know there's no drive letters in linux, you could get yourself in trouble in a hurry. Before you try muckin' around your phone's files with root permissions, best you do some Googling and learn a few linux basics, like basic linux file structure for starters.

No offense bro. As one lives, one learns. I allready messed up via a software update of the os, and i had to re-"burn" the image on the phone to retun the things to normal.
I see you said the fenec has a similar prefs.js file. Which one is it ?

Later Edit: Where do i install midnight commander from ? There isn't in any of teh catalogues.

Learn first, do second. You're trying hard to get yourself in trouble by going where you have never gone before. The system refused to let you copy the file as a hint to get a clue first.

If you insist on blastin' around your files without learning some basics first people aren't going to feel inclined to spend their time bailing you out when Bad Things happen. Come back and ask your question about the prefs file after you've made an effort to learn some basic linux concepts.
