I just bought the Targa NDAS400, a 400GB external hard disk with USB and ethernet (NDAS: Network Direct Attached Storage) ports. As I'm still in the process of emigrating, I hadn't planned on unpacking it until we're safely installed in Thailand. Also, I haven't bought it specifically with the N800 in mind.

Still, it would be nice to know in advance that the N800 could access this device without too much black magiks involved. Has anyone had experience with this protocol and their Internet Tablet? I don't believe NDAS has already been addressed in this forum (the search parser keeps insisting it has to have something to do with inside Nokia information -- NDAs, y'know?).

As far as I understand it, the NAS boxes are linux/Samba based. So the magik boils down to installing the cifs kernel module and mounting. fanoush help page is here

The N800 cifs module published there works fine on my N800.
