Hi,

I would love to hack together a shell or python script that every hour queries the GPS before uploading lat/long to a webserver.

I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the director of a similar project or provide me with some hints on how to best start this. I am fairly ok with python, but would need some help on how to query the GPS from python.

hehe,
I travel a lot in my work and it would be nice for family and friends to roughly follow my trail. And making it myself would ensure a bit of privacy... (not too fan of google latitude)

Fantastic!!

I wanted to do the exact same thing, but more for finding my phone if some steals it.
