Hello.
im a linux C (also perl,bash) developer who would like to begin developing for maemo. where is the best place to start?

I would suggest the Maemo 5 Developers Guide if you intend working for the N900.

If you want to port an existing Linux app over to Maemo then you might like to look at Developer Porting Guide

Any obvious questions and associated answer will hopefully be found in FAQ.

secondly, i find the developer guide really useful and good.
but,is there any offline version of it?? a pdf or something?

here is some nokia documentation on their site but the Wiki is intended to be fuid as is updated all the time.

Can I request that you make a port of atari jaguar system emulator? There is already a jaguar emulator for windows, mac and linux. It also goes by the name T2k (stands for tempest 2000). youtube tempest 2000 and watch that game it is an old classic.
Can't remember the link to the emulator I'm at work right now but I just downloaded about t roms for it last night an using the emulator on my pc.
