Have anyone mentioned about Pandora?
it seems to have a very very similar specs with n900 except no sim slot

The Pandora full specifications are as follows:

* ARM® Cortex-A8 600Mhz+ CPU running Linux
* 430-MHz TMS320C64x+ DSP Core
* PowerVR SGX OpenGL 2.0 ES compliant 3D hardware
* 800x480 4.3" 16.7 million colours touchscreen LCD
* Wifi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth & High Speed USB 2.0 Host
* Dual SDHC card slots & SVideo TV output
* Dual Analogue and Digital gaming controls
* 43 button QWERTY and numeric keypad
* Around 10+ Hours battery life

what do think guyz? n900 or Pandora?

Yes its been mentioned MANY times. And the debate between then N900 and the console has been thrashed to death.

Although the specs is almost the same they aren't targeting the same audience. N900 is more for power users(at least that's my impression) whereas the Pandora is created mostly for emulating games. Of course they could do pretty much the same stuff but not even the design is near each other.

As a power user I totally disagree. The larger screen makes all the difference to me. I would actually prefer the n900 guts in the n810. But I appear to prefer the Pandora over the n900, only time will tell..

I think the Pandora is competing with the n810, where the n900 is competing with HTC, Motorola, Apple

Pandora what? Any links?
What OS?
Prize?

No sim? Why should you do any comparison? Are these even comparable? On some levels maybe perhaps yes no?

And yes, the Pandora is running an OpenSource OS: it's basically Ångström-Linux with some Pandora-specific changes.
It's not really available yet. The Pandora is more a game console than a phone (or internet tablet). I guess the N900 and the Pandora are comparable when looking at the hardware specs.

o Price was $330 last time I checked.
o OS is Angstrom, which is a Linux-based distro for small systems.

In addition to the specs listed in the first posting:

o 256MB RAM, as the N900
o 512MB NAND flash, twice the N900
o No additional internal flash (unlike the 32GB on the N900)
o The two SDHC slots are external, full-size slots
o The Pandora can boot directly from SD if you want to, out of the box. Or from NAND flash, as the N900.
o Battery: 4200 mAh li-poly.

I'm getting one of these (pre-ordered a _LONG_ time ago.. it's been quite a wait). I'll be using it as an upgrade of my N800. The N900 will be the all-in-one, compromise device when I'm short of space and won't be able to bring all my gadgets.

As for software: Expect a lot of synergy between the Pandora and Maemo.

no worries, I was not trying to make a big arguement here.
It has been a long time waiting to become available again to order.
just wondering anyone will order one?
I guess the rising the Pandora could help the development of maemo too.

I think its a good opportunity for two communities to benefit each other, I'm sure there will be a lot of common ground covered between the two. Similar hardware and software, will be good to see how things go.

Hopefully most will see it as a good collaboration
