Hi,

I've got my N900 for 1 month now, I like the way is made and its features. Although those features are quite simple and easy to access, some more basic feature like "Check your own sim number" seems unaccessible to me. I've spent 2 days looking for that option, no result.

Could anyone tell me whether there's a way to check sim card number without having to use second phone. I'm looking forward to any solution.

Thanks

I don't see any option there to check my sim card numbers.
Sorry, I've forgot to mention that I have PR 1.1 firmware.

This is my list of options available in contacts.

If you go to "My information" there, has it filled in the Mobile number automatically? I can't remember whether or not I had to manually enter it.

That's my point, it's not filled automatically. Anyway I've entered my information manually but still it would be good to know any way to check it like on other phones.

@Post up

There's no contacts to import from sim card.

I'm actually quite amazed at how hard it is to get the N900 to tell you its phone number. I've spent the last few hours delving into the depths of dbus and pnatd to try and get that information, but no luck.

Even evolution/abook is a dead end.

Anyone know how to get the phone number off the sim through a script/command line?

To be honest, I wouldn't have a clue how to find it on any other mobile phone either (and googling suggests that there isn't a standard or common way of doing it).

Same. When I first got my cell phone, I had to go to the TMobile website to figure out what my number was...
