do u want everyone to be saying this is perfect?
One would expect that this forum would be used by people who like the device and use it, not those who hate it with the utmost of contempt and feel the need to take it out on others. The device is no means perfect, but to bash it persistently and with an extremely negative tone towards the community here will not earn you any fans.

is that not misleading other people who ARE GOING TO BUY THE PHONE???
I don't think anyone is saying the complaints are false, however I suspect a lot of people here are aware that the N900 was not a followup to a phone but to an Internet Tablet that previously had no phone capabilities on an OS that didn't have integration for such.

Most people here take issue with the reaction some users are having, particularly taking it out on the community here with repeated, loud, and rude posts.

NOT EVERYONE IS HAPPY WITH THIS AND ALSO KNOW THE PROBLEMS WITH IT....
Sure, but why would a forum centered around the OS and the devices be packed full of people who -hate- the device?

Probably u cant return the phone, thats y u say all this just to please urselves because u have to live with it now..
HOLD ON GUYS. THE N900 IS CRAP BECAUSE A SMALL PART OF THE USERBASE HATES IT, AND WE'RE ALL LIARS! OH AND WE ALL HATE IT IN REALITY, BUT ARE LIVING IN DENIAL!

I suspect that entire statement is likely false, and this forum is not for that.

U guys complain more than u use the device...
They're just responding to someone who seems insistent on attacking this community because they don't hate the device like you do.

There are shortcomings in the software, yes, but I don't get emotional and fly into a posting rage regarding them.

BTW this was aimed towards some low-minded idiots on here......
Congratulations, you yourself are one of them.

I'm sending it on monday - they even gave me a prepaid envelope when i bought it ( if i need to send it back)...... I GOT IT, TESTED, DONT LIKE IT, SENDING IT BACK... Its a forum on here and I put up this topic so that if someone wants to get the phone, he can know THAT NOT EVERYONE IS HAPPY WITH THIS AND ALSO KNOW THE PROBLEMS WITH IT....

U guys complain more than u use the device... why hide the defects? U lot have got an excuse now? TO READ REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING.. JUST ACCEPT THE BLOODY FACT THAT THIS PHONE HAS GOT DEFECTS... reading reviews wont cover up the defects (as U want to do)....

Probably u cant return the phone, thats y u say all this just to please urselves because u have to live with it now..

I've just registered to post a thread elsewhere, but got caught up reading this thread (my mistake, thats ten minutes of my life that I wont be getting back !).

Underworld, I'm not going to get caught up in agreeing or disagreeing, think thats already been more than covered.
Just wanted to say that you are correct, here in the UK we do have certain rights - the ones you are talking about were brought in to protect consumers in their own home against bullyboy tactics on the part of salespeople.

They were not brought in for people to test purchases at home on a whim, and then return.

Even big companies have a right to make a profit and employ people etc etc.
Companies also have the right to expect us the consumer to take responsibility and exercise some common sense when deciding on purchases, contracts etc.

If you are happy with the outcome and returning your N900, and ultimately moving on, why not do precisely that, and allow us to enjoy our chosen device, on a site devoted to using and devoloping it.

Not being rude, just my 2 cents worth.

Look, return the bloody phone and be done with it. Stop *****ing about here, get on with your life and good luck to you whatever you buy. Its only an electronic device - I returned the N95 to vodafone in 2007 because I did not like the battery life; I did not waste my time telling everyman and his dog of my decision; the N95 went on to become a classic as will the N900.

Correct, its called amongst other things finance cooling off period, it was never intended to replace common sense and/or intelligence, or to be used to see if customers do or don't like their purchase

Anyway enjoy your new device, and don't let us keep you away from it

Thats what iu want - that this forum is used by people who like the device...... nobody should say something against it - so that others read the threads and dont find anyone having any problem with it.. then buy the device, and when they have problems, u have a chance to repeat all this ***** all over again and telling him that he should have read REVIEWS..... Why u dont like negative reviews??

I dont want fans on here.. I did not bash it persistently everywhere.. I replied to someone, on post #2 or #3 , who simply asked me why i am returning it...

Because thats where newcomers will look before buying the device.. they should be made aware of its shortcomings also...
I dont hate the device, its just not for me.... what i hate is people's behaviour in here

Does it make the device GOOD if the majority likes it??
