I just noticed that the Ubuntu guys have now built a Python system wide Equaliser using Gtk and LADSPA.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1308838

I was thinking that this might be a nice little project to port to N900 using Python and Qt-designer (no promises yet)

I wanted to discuss what activity there was already done to have LADSP on Maemo5. It would be nice to port this to Qt (which I suspect is the easy bit) but if the underlying infra of LADSPA is not there it might be a bit more of a challenge.

Also is this the best way to approach this with Qt, for instance should phonon be a better approach, or a Gstreamer plugin?

Any clues if we will get equalizer in PR1.2 ?

Unlikely (bearing in mind in mind that I know nothing of PR 1.2), but for Media Player, http://blogs.igalia.com/jasuarez/200...ith-equalizer/ exists. Using it with the subtitles support and the Media Player is certainly much nicer to use.

@qwerty12 thanks for reply

This sounds like a worthwhile project to investigate. I noticed that you did some work on LADSPA some time ago. I just occured to me that the .deb might just run as its Python and GTK as long as the libs were there.

will look at the MAFW gst link as well
